Case Study
Packaged blue air pipes on factory floor

At Canyon Europe, we have always prioritised sustainability in everything we do. In 1959, we invented the first trigger sprayer to help reduce the use of harmful aerosols and protect the environment. Over 60 years later, we are still committed to safeguarding the planet whilst supplying high-quality triggers.

Reducing energy consumption in our manufacturing processes has been a top priority in recent years. One key area we identified for improvement was the air pressure required in order to run machines throughout the factory. Losses in pressure through leaks was affecting the efficiency of the compressors, resulting in increased energy usage.

To address this, we conducted a study into how the process could be improved and found that installing a new ring of main air pipes would significantly reduce losses of pressure throughout the system.

Following the pipe work upgrades, by minimising leaks we were able to reduce the pressure required from the compressor from 7.6 bar down to 6.6 bar. This in turn reduced energy consumption of the compressor system by 7.25% across the factory.

Not only have these improvements boosted our operational efficiency, but they have also allowed us to further our sustainability goals.

By reducing our overall energy consumption, we have also decreased our carbon footprint, reinforcing Canyon Europe’s commitment to environmental responsibility in manufacturing.
